The celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine August 24 always is very special in Lviv. If you happened to be in Lviv August 24, 2009, you saw all these festivities and city’s decorations in your own, but if not, I have some pictures for you, how Lviv made the Ukrainian Independence holiday-2009.
They created the floral map of Ukraine
and floral Ukrainian flag and coat of arms (Tryzub is a name of the coat of arms of Ukraine).
Floral map, flag and coats of arms were installed downtown of Lviv by the monument of the Ukrainian Independence.
But the most interesting idea of the Independence celebration-2009, for my opinion, was to wear ancient statues in Ukrainian outfits :) The statues of Neptune, Diana and Amphitrite on the Lviv Market Square got their Ukrainian embroidered attires, take a look

Tourists simply could not resist taking pictures by these statues.
Really, when else in your lifetime can you get a chance to have your photo with Amphitrite, dressed in Ukrainian style? Because, I am sure, next year celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine there will not be the same: they will make something new and intriguing for the habitants and guests of Lviv.
