Fall 2009: Ukraine Is Wearing A Flu-Fighting Mask

Fall 2009. Swine flu has spread worldwide and in Ukraine as well. Yeah, now Ukraine wears flu-fighting masks. But looks like Ukrainians did not lose their sense of humor even in this hard time. Look what they did in Lviv, the biggest city of the Western Ukraine! They put face masks even on the city statues! :) This is statue of Diana on the Rynok Square in Lviv. As you see, not only she is wearing mask, but her dogs as well :)

In August 2009 the statues were dressed in traditional Ukrainian wear on the honor of Ukrainian Independence Day. In November 2009 the statues put their masks on :( Such a sad reality, guys :(
Another picture which has impressed me in this flu time it is a photo of newlyweds in Lviv wearing face masks.

In this case masks are not a joke, but a necessity. Anyway, newlyweds are happy despite of covering their faces. Sometimes love can beat even flu, you know…
And finally, here is a photo of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko wearing flu-fighting mask on their visit to Ivano-Frankivsk.

Ivano-Frankivsk is the one of West Ukrainian cities which suffers badly from flu epidemic as well as Lviv and Ternopil.
